MY ROLE

I contributed to the end-to-end product design process—from scoping and user flows to wireframes and prototyping to final designs

while helping design an intuitive recruiter dashboard that streamlines how recruiters manage jobs, companies, and candidates.

PROJECT SCOPE

Worked as the Solo UI/UX Designer, collaborating with 3 developers to design and deliver the product within a 3-month timeline.

The dashboard’s core workflow centers around a job rating system based on candidate questionnaires. This enables recruiters to quickly evaluate candidates at a glance and efficiently decide who to shortlist or reject.

Researching Problem Space

Client research and stakeholder discussions helped identify key pain points in the existing system, revealing gaps in workflow visibility, candidate evaluation, and overall recruiter efficiency.

Insights gathered from clients and stakeholders revealed critical areas for improvement within the recruitment process. These findings enabled the development of targeted solutions aimed at enhancing workflow efficiency, improving candidate assessment, and boosting overall recruiter productivity. Recruters are short on time

Recruiters often work under tight time constraints while managing multiple job openings and large volumes of candidates. They need quick overviews and streamlined tools to make fast, efficient hiring decisions.

Hiring process is not streamlined

The hiring process is often fragmented and inefficient, making it difficult for recruiters to track candidates and job progress clearly. A more streamlined workflow is needed to simplify hiring tasks and improve overall recruitment efficiency.

Companies Failed to Get Great Match

Companies often struggle to find candidates who truly match their job requirements and company needs. This mismatch can lead to longer hiring cycles and less effective recruitment outcomes.

Requirements Gathering and Brainstorming

During the brainstorming phase, I sketched initial concepts on paper, focusing on an intuitive interface and simple user flow to help recruiters efficiently match companies with the right job seekers.

During the initial prototyping phase, I collaborated with the client and concluded that the workflow needed to be significantly simplified. This led to several wireframe iterations until we arrived at an optimal solution.

Crafting a Solution

A newly designed job board and career portal that helps recruiters prioritize tasks and make faster hiring decisions.

Leveraging key insights and persona attributes, I identified the need for a solution that seamlessly connects candidates with the right jobs, enabling recruiters to find and match talent more efficiently.

From these insights, we defined the overall job flow with two core components: a job board and a job seeker career portal. The job board enables recruiters to efficiently identify suitable candidates for specific roles and connect them with hiring companies, while the career portal helps job seekers discover opportunities with the right organizations. The dashboard also provides key overview features to support recruitment decisions, outlined below.

The dashboard streamlines recruitment by bringing pipelines, questionnaires, video interviews, scorecards, assessments, and other hiring tools into one place for efficient candidate evaluation.

What set the solution apart was an experience defined by simplicity and speed, enabling users to book flights with ease—earning strong client appreciation.

Insights from Users and Clients

Continuous client feedback and multiple iterations helped shape the product into its final, refined solution.

Throughout the design process, I received detailed feedback from the client on every screen and component, which helped guide the overall UX of the dashboard. This collaborative approach led to multiple iterations, refining the user flows and interface until we arrived at an optimal solution.

The client later shared the dashboard with several active recruiters to gather real-world feedback. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with recruiters highlighting how the system significantly reduced the time required to connect job seekers with companies. They particularly valued the at-a-glance insights into key aspects of the recruitment process, such as revenue tracking, task overviews, and overall hiring activity.

Recruiters also noted that the tool improved time management, simplified their daily workflows, and made the hiring process less stressful while increasing overall productivity. The client provided very positive reviews of the final product, some of which are attached below.

Results and impact

This project strengthened my skills in designing impactful dashboards and delivering solutions under tight timelines.

This project taught me how to design dashboards that significantly impact end-user workflows while balancing usability and efficiency. It also strengthened my ability to collaborate closely with clients, incorporate their feedback effectively, and deliver solutions within strict timelines.

Through this process, I greatly improved my time management and communication skills. The experience provided valuable insights that I will continue to apply in future projects.
